them again

March 10, 2008 at 8:16 pm (poem)

may the curve of my mouth
the thin line of lips persuade
you that nothing in this world
can make me forget or forgive
and everyone else in this
audience of silent laughs and whispers
don’t think I can’t hear
don’t think I can’t see just because
my eyes are cast down
I know you
I wish I wouldn’t.

not much time left to go
honestly, I wish I could say something more helpful to cheer you up about this one, but I’m afraid it’s like this.
just keep going, and – don’t you forget how to smile while you’re waiting for the better times to come, will you?
